This book was published in 1995 and belongs to the Coniectanea Biblica New Testament Series.
In a nutshell, the author of this book does a comprehensive study of the phrase “this generation” used in the New Testament. He traces the usage of the phrase through early Judaism then talks about each occurrence of the phrase in the New Testament.
He asserts that every occurence of the phrase refers to a group of people who experienced a direct act of God’s power but reacted with doubt and/or complete rejection. Thus he avoids the whole dispute of whether Jesus was referring to the Jew’s as a race, or if He was referring to the people alive in His own time when He said, “this generation will not pass away until all these things be fulfilled.”

Kevin: (or do you prefer Diglot?) Only WordPress blogs will generate pingbacks to this post itself. You can see what other blogs on Blogspot or Typepad are linking to you in the dashboard but they won’t generate pingbacks. So it’s not pointless to ask.
Oh, I see. Thanks for the info. I am a bit new to the blogosphere.

I said something similar to Nick’s about the pingbacks.
Thanks Bitsy.
And thanks to everyone who has entered in the draw.
I hope to make the book giveaway a semi-regular event (perhaps once a month).
Generally, the books I don’t want I give away to the church I attend, but I will try and save some to give away to my fellow Bibliobloggers.
